Director Mani Ratnam is busy shooting the last leg of his upcoming Raavan in Hindi and Asokavanam in Tamil. The director is known to give attention to every detail for every single shot in all his films, and never rests on his laurels. He makes sure that he gets the desired expression right, so that the schedule doesn’t extend beyond the stipulated time. In one scene where Aishwarya Rai plays a sober woman, Mani Ratnam insisted that he shoot the entire scene without Aishwarya any make up, so as to portray her role naturally.
Aishwarya immediately had to remove her make up and get ready for the next shot in a jiffy! Mani Ratnam’s Raavan stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhisek Bachchan in lead roles and music is by A.R. Rahman. The film is expected to hit the screens in late 2009. Mani Ratnam’s previous film Guru (2007) had the same leading pair.
